Auburn, Ala. – The City of Auburn welcomes new Auburn Public Library Director Chris Warren, who will begin work on December 10, 2012. Mr. Warren joins the City of Auburn following the retirement of Library Director Margie Huffman, who served Auburn residents for 41 years.
“I’m looking forward to joining the staff of the City of Auburn, and I hope to continue providing excellent library services to Auburn's citizens,” said Warren of his appointment.
Warren, a native of Warner Robins, Georgia, previously served as the Branch Manager of the South Columbus Public Library, a branch of the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries in Georgia. Warren has worked in various capacities in libraries for over eight years, including library management, circulation, reference and youth services. Warren has a Master of Science in Information Studies from Florida State University specializing in Reference and Instruction and Youth Services.
“I’m excited about the enthusiasm and experience Mr. Warren is bringing with him, and I’m confident that our Library will continue to meet the high standard of excellence that residents expect,” said Auburn City Manager Charles M. Duggan, Jr.
