Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Arts Association (AAA) has named its board members for 2013 - 2014. The AAA is a non-profit organization created to support the arts and art education in the Auburn community. The executive board members and members at large represent the Auburn community, local businesses, and organizations throughout the City.
The AAA executive board members include: Garnetta “Chichi” Lovett, President; Emily Klinkenborg, Vice President; Margaret Gluhman, Treasurer and Secretary; and Shelley Shields, Past President. AAA board members at large are: Susan Braden, AAA publicity; Alicia Hames, art education; Andrea Holliday, Auburn Area Community Theatre; Amy Kaiser, Art for Homeschoolers and the Dean Road Ceramics Studio; Katherine King, community music educator; Cindy Mask, community artist and instructor; Dr. William R. Schaffer, Auburn Community Orchestra; and Eric Stamp, Downtown Merchants Association.
In partnership with Auburn Parks and Recreation and the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, the AAA provides art classes and camps, exhibition programs, and special events such as the Juried Preview Exhibition and Reception at Auburn CityFest and the SummerNight Downtown Art Walk for the Auburn community. The AAA also provides assistance for artists and performers and supports local organizations such as the Auburn Community Orchestra, AU Tiger Strings, and the Auburn Area Community Theatre.
