Auburn, Ala. - Auburn citizens are advised that Hickory Dickory Park will be closed to the public beginning Monday, Nov. 26. The park will remain closed until further notice as crews begin work on a new sewer line in the area. The closure is necessary due to blasting work associated with the project. In order to ensure the safety of park patrons, citizens will not be permitted to enter park grounds until work in the area has been completed. Updates regarding the construction will be available online at www.auburnalabama.org.
During the closure, citizens are encouraged to visit any number of Auburn's other parks, including the new playground at Town Creek Park, as well as playgrounds at Felton Little Park, Sam Harris Park, Martin Luther King Park, and Duck Samford Park. All City parks are open from sunrise to sunset daily. A number of parks are available for reservation for events and parties a minimum of two weeks prior to an event. To reserve a park, visit the Rent & Reserve portion of the Parks and Recreation website at www.auburnalabama.org/parks.
Auburn Parks and Recreation apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates its citizens' understanding during this closure. For the safety of citizens, please be reminded all areas of Hickory Dickory Park will be closed to the public until further notice, effective Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.
