As an added effort to create additional parking in the downtown area, the City of Auburn has established the Magnolia Avenue Employee Parking Lot (MAEPL) which is located at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Burton Street. MAEPL was established to provide designated parking to the employees of businesses located within Urban Core zoning district (UC) with priority given to businesses located in the Entertainment District (ED). Through the establishment of the MAEPL, the number of spaces available to downtown visitors and patrons is increased. MAEPL opened on Monday, August 20, 2018.
Eligible businesses or individual employees who meet the criteria established by the City are required to submit an application for usage of space(s) in MAEPL. All applications for the use of parking space(s) shall be subject to availability and should the number of applications exceed the availability, the City shall establish a waiting list. Parking space(s) will be issued on first come first serve basis provided the applicant meets the required criteria. The date and time stamp of online submitted applications will be used to determine the order in which parking spaces will be issued.
Initial applications were accepted on August 15, 2018 from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. At this time, all available 67 spaces have been allocated. A waiting list has been established. To be added to the waiting list, complete the application below. Spaces will be issued, according the waiting list, as additional spaces become available.
