Purpose

In cooperation with the State of Alabama and the Federal Highway Administration, the Metropolitan Planning Organization is responsible for carrying out the metropolitan transportation planning process for the Auburn-Opelika area. The Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizens Advisory Committee reviews local transportation plans and changes in public transit and may provide ideas and suggestions for consideration by the Metropolitan Planning Organization Board and Technical Advisory Committee.

Council appointed MPO policy
Qualifications: Members must live in the jurisdiction they represent Federal law
Four-year terms Federal law and MPO policy
Meets as needed at the Lee Russel Council of Governments MPO policy
