Project Overview Traffic Transportation & Parking Improvements

This project consists of installing dual left turn lanes on North Dean Road at its intersection with East University Drive to accommodate westbound and eastbound turn movements. Removal of the existing traffic signal and installation of a new 4-pole/mast arm signal is also included in this project. The roadways will be resurfaced entirely within the construction limits. ​ The project is part of the City of Auburn's Comprehensive City-Wide Traffic Study.

The project has a total capital budget of $1,754,324.00 and is anticipated to finish by Dec 16, 2024.

Please note that project completion dates are subject to change based on weather and other conditions. Project anticipated finish dates may not coincide with actual day of opening.

Project bids were be opened on May 7th, 2024 with JLD Enterprises as the apparent low bidder. The project was approved by City Council on May 21st.​ A pre-construction meeting was held on July 25th.​​ The contractor is working to demo the sidewalks and clear space for the new poles.​
