Alison Frazier, P.E., CFM
Engineering Services Director / City Engineer
The Master Plan was developed with the intent to provide maximum flexibility for future buildout, allowing Auburn to adapt to changes in operations and citizen demands that will occur as Auburn continues to grow. The new Public Safety Center and site improvements planned for Phase 1 can exist independent of future phases and will integrate equally well with the two most likely buildout scenarios. These future phases could occur any time in the future, but most likely not for another 20 years or more.
Phase 2A Option
This option for a future buildout would replace the parking lot constructed in Phase 1 with a public plaza fronting Ross Street. A new municipal building would be constructed at the south end of the plaza, likely providing administrative offices or even a new City Hall location. Additional structure(s), including a multi-level parking facility, would be constructed on the site of the current Public Safety Administration and Development Services buildings.

Phase 2B Option
This option differs from 2A by moving the public space to behind the complex and concentrating new structures on the northeast end of the site. A pedestrian-friendly boulevard would separate Phase 1 and the new buildings, providing a vibrant new streetscape with additional on-street parking and an urban feel. The public park space would work in concert with a redeveloped Felton Little Park, creating a gateway park feature to the greater downtown area.
