Department Information

The Inspection Services Department, under the direction of the Building Official, is responsible for the enforcement of all adopted building, fire, and related codes. Our staff of plan reviewers and inspectors review submitted plans and inspect all new and remodeled buildings constructed in the city limits of Auburn as well as related components such as plumbing, electrical, and heating and air. They conduct follow-up fire inspections on existing businesses and are responsible for the enforcement of many of the adopted ordinances in the Code of Auburn such as weed abatement and property maintenance violations.
