Workforce Resources

The Workforce Development Division partners with many entities to provide effective and efficient resources for workforce. Each partner is listed and linked below describing areas of expertise.

• Alabama Community College System - State of Alabama - Provides Real Life Education at one of 24 community colleges across the state of Alabama with flexible class schedules where high school students, career veterans and every student in between can succeed in technical and academic preparation.
• Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) – State of Alabama – Partners with Alabama cities, counties, non-profit organizations and others to improve communities. ADECA's grants support economic development projects, infrastructure improvements, job training, energy conservation, law enforcement, traffic safety, recreation development and assistance to low-income families.
• Alabama Department of Labor (ADOL) – State of Alabama – Specializes in various aspects of employment within the state of Alabama including: unemployment compensation, job seekers, worker's compensation, internal security, labor market information, inspections, governmental affairs, hearings and appeals.
• Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services – State of Alabama – Provides services to children and adults with disabilities with individualized services in homes, schools, the workplace, and the community.
• Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) – State of Alabama – AIDT is a part of The Alabama Department of Commerce and encourages economic development through job-specific training.
• Alabama Office of Apprenticeship - State of Alabama - The Alabama Department of Apprenticeship is a part of the Alabama Department of Commerce designed to expand the use of registered apprenticeships (RAs) and Alabama industry recognized apprenticeship programs (AIRAPs) to provide high-quality career training which will enable workers and employers to prosper in pursuit of the continued economic development of Alabama.
• Alabama Technology Network (ATN) – State of Alabama – The Alabama Technology Network’s assistance centers help manufacturers in Alabama improve their global competitiveness. ATN is a part of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), a program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). As a partner, ATN has access to a wealth of tools, products, services, and technical support. The ATN is an integral part of the Alabama Community College System.
• Auburn Technology Assistance Center (ATAC) – Auburn University – The University’s affiliate of the Alabama Technology Network (ATN), assists in process improvement for companies to improve and grow.
• Auburn Training Connection (ATC) – City of Auburn – ATC is a unique partnership among Auburn area industry, Auburn University, Auburn City Schools, the City of Auburn, and the Industrial Development Board (IDB) of the City of Auburn which organizes and manages job-specific training for area industry.
• Auburn University – Auburn, Alabama – Auburn University is designated Research I university with a traditional blend of arts and applied science, and changing with the needs of today while living with a respect for the traditions and spirit that is Auburn.
• Chattahoochee Valley Community College – Phenix City, Alabama – Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) offers comprehensive workforce training for workers in every stage of their careers. Their Workforce Development Division constantly seeks new and innovative ways to meet the learning needs of the community.
• Columbus State University – Columbus, Georgia – Serving the Southeast while attracting students from around the world, Columbus State thrives on community partnerships to deliver excellence for students who want to achieve personal and professional success in an increasingly global environment.
• Columbus Technical College – Columbus, Georgia – The mission of Columbus Technical College is to promote economic growth and development and enhance the quality of life in its region by providing quality, accessible education, training, and consulting services for a globally competitive, diverse workforce.
• Goodwill Career Center – Opelika, Alabama – Provides resources for job seekers and employers.
• Opelika Career Center – Opelika, Alabama – The Opelika Career Center is part of the Alabama Career Center System and provides resources for job seekers, employers, labor market information, and more.
• Southern Union State Community College – Opelika, Alabama – Southern Union is part of the Alabama Community College System offering technical training and college preparatory classes in our regional area. Technical degree programs are offered in welding, electronics, and CAD/CAM systems. Southern Union also has an Industry Training Center available to help meet the needs of local industry.
• Still Serving Veterans – Phenix City, Alabama – Serves and honors Veterans and their families by empowering them to build meaningful lives through connections to fulfilling careers, benefits and services; and to proactively strengthen Veteran communities through leadership and collaboration.
• Troy University – Phenix City, Alabama Campus – Troy University is different from most institutions of higher learning. Rather than preparing students for jobs, they prepare them for what’s ahead: life, opportunity, and surprises. Yes, the future can be unpredictable, but the people who succeed in the years to come will do so because of preparation, planning, and drive.
