Dean Road Recreation Center
Dean Road Rec Center
307 S Dean Rd
The history of Dean Road Recreation Center dates back to the late 1960s and '70s when the Auburn Parks and Recreation offices were located in the National Guard Armory building at 307 South Dean Road. Basketball was the only sport played at the Dean Road Recreation Center during this time. In 1973 the Parks and Recreation Department moved to the Water Board Building; during this time the Frank Brown Recreation Center was built. Upon completion of the Frank Brown Recreation Center, the Parks and Recreation Department relocated to that facility until 1991. The present-day facility opened in 1991 after renovations to the old Armory location were made to create office spaces and move the Ceramics Studio from Auburn Junior High School. The Ceramics Studio is now at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.
Dean Road Recreation Center is also home to various Therapeutic Programs offered year-round. New programs are currently being developed - watch the quarterly brochures and our social media pages for more information!
