    Purpose

    The Auburn Housing Authority’s mission is to provide safe, decent and sanitary housing conditions for individuals and families. The AHA’s objective is to provide personal, economic and social upward mobility to provide individuals and families the opportunity to make the transition from subsidized to non-subsidized housing.

    Consists of five members Section 24-1-24 of the Code of Alabama
    Mayor appointed Section 24-1-24 of the Code of Alabama
    Qualifications: Appointees may not be a city official and may not "acquire any interest, direct or indirect, in any housing project or in any property included or planned to be included in any project, nor shall he have any interest, direct or indirect, in any contract or proposed contract for materials or services to be furnished or used in connection with any housing project." One commissioner must be a public housing residents or housing assistance resident. Sections 24-1-24 and 24-1-24.1 of the Code of Alabama
